
Eight people are facing fines for allegedly breaching the COVID-19 lockdown rules in Lindsay in the past week or so.
According to a media release from the Kawartha Lakes Police, six fines have been levied during traffic stops with another pair issued as officers responded to a suspicious person call.
The press release notes that Province extended the stay-at-home order for much of Ontario until Feb. 16.
“Community safety has been and remains our number one priority throughout this pandemic. The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is committed to working with community partners in balancing overall public safety and health,” it reads.
The set fine is $880.
