Police are advising residents to check conditions before venturing out on the ice.

Three people died on Georgian Bay over the weekend in two seperate incidents.

“No ice is safe and with the warm temperatures the lakes still have sections with open water,” reads a social media post from DRPS North Division.

Officers also issued a reminder that Durham snowmobile trails are currently closed and should not be used.
