A Sunderland woman turned $1 into $100,000 with a recent lottery win.
Michele Oliveira of Sunderland matched six of the seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the LOTTO 6/49 draw on Nov. 28, winning $100,000.
The 59-year-old married mother of two is a regular lottery player.
“This win actually came from a previous Free Play which I added ENCORE to,” she said in a media release.
Oliveira said she realized she had a winning ticket when checking her numbers online.
“I saw that I had all numbers except for one and was stunned. I ran outside and said to my husband, ‘I think we won $100,000!’”
They called their children together to share the exciting news.
“This feels surreal – it changes lives. If it wasn’t for the pandemic, we would have gotten on a plane right away!”
Oliveira said that she plans to use her winnings to pay bills and share with her children.
