Stolen dog reunited with its owner

A dog stolen from Whitby recently has been located and reunited with its owners.

According to the DRPS, the dog — named Nina — was located around 3:30 a.m. this morning in Brampton in good condition.

Police say that Nina was located by a citizen wandering outside a hotel parking lot on Nevets Road.

“The dog was checked out by a veterinarian and deemed healthy. She was reunited with her owners this afternoon,” reads a media release.

Ali Habeib, 28, of Clippper Lane in Pickering has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and administer noxious thing in relation to the theft. He was released on an undertaking.

Investigators continue to look for a second suspect, who is described as a male, black, tall, heavy build, orange/blonde hair and goes by the name of ‘Deebo.’
