Four cases of COVID-19 reported in Brock since Christmas

There’s been four confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Brock Township over the holiday season.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department on Thursday (Dec. 31) includes a pair of new cases, bringing the local total to 35 including six active cases. Two others were reported on Dec. 25 and 29.

Overall, there have been 7,325 confirmed cases in Durham – 2,130 in Ajax, 1,701 in Pickering, 1,422 in Oshawa, 1,261 in Whitby, 524 in Clarington, 161 in Uxbridge, 56 in Scugog and the 35 in Brock Township. An additional 35 cases are under investigation.

A total of 662 residents are in home isolation, with 37 currently hospitalized.

A total of 239 deaths – including 202 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 6,387 cases have been resolved, which represents 87 per cent of the total.
