Port Perry man facing numerous charges following alleged road rage incident

A Port Perry man is facing nearly 20 charges after police allegedly recovered a firearm and drugs following a reported road rage incident.

According to the DRPS, the 38-year-old man was the driver of a Mazda vehicle that was involved in an incident with the the driver of a Dodge Charger in the area of Brock Road and Bayly Street in Pickering around 1:45 p.m. last Tuesday (Dec. 22).

“The suspect used his vehicle and rammed the Charger numerous times. The suspect vehicle sped off and the victim followed him to an intersection nearby in Pickering to confront him,” reads a media release.

“The victim exited his vehicle and was knocked to the ground by the Mazda.”

Police say the suspect fled the area and police later located the abandoned suspect vehicle on Dillingham Road in Pickering.

“Witnesses and video surveillance observed the suspect discarding numerous items on the ground and in the bed of an unoccupied pick-up truck. Police located a firearm, ammo, heroin and cocaine,” a media release reads.

The suspect was arrested in Trenton the next day.

Andrew Scott of Scugog Point Crescent in Port Perry is facing 19 criminal charges including dangerous driving; assault with a weapon; fail to remain; two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; weapons dangerous; occupy motor vehicle with a firearm; possession of prohibited or restricted firearm unauthorized; careless use of a firearm, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and possess firearm no licence.

He was held for a bail hearing.
