Two new COVID-19 cases reported in Brock

Two new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Brock Township.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department Thursday (Dec. 17) notes that four cases remain active locally.

Overall, there have been 5,964 confirmed cases in Durham – 1,756 in Ajax, 1,382 in Pickering, 1,143 in Oshawa, 1,009 in Whitby, 410 in Clarington, 139 in Uxbridge, 34 in Scugog and the 28 in Brock Township. An additional 63 cases are under investigation.

A total of 695 residents are in home isolation, with 40 currently hospitalized.

A total of 225 deaths – including 193 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 5,004 cases have been resolved, which represents 84 per cent of the total.
