New case of COVID-19 in Brock brings total to 26

Another case of COVID-19 has been reported in Brock, bringing the total to 26 since the pandemic got underway.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department Monday (Dec. 14) notes that four of the cases remain active.

Overall, there have been 5,659 confirmed cases in Durham – 1,661 in Ajax, 1,338 in Pickering, 1,098 in Oshawa, 974 in Whitby, 386 in Clarington, 137 in Uxbridge, 32 in Scugog and the 26 in Brock Township. An additional seven cases are under investigation.

A total of 847 residents are in home isolation, with 35 currently hospitalized.

A total of 221 deaths – including 190 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 4,556 cases have been resolved, which represents 81 per cent of the total.
