New COVID-19 case reported in Brock, total stands at 25

Another case of COVID-19 has been reported in Brock, the fourth since the start of December.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department Tuesday (Dec. 8) notes that four of the cases remain active.

Overall, there have been 5,213 confirmed cases in Durham – 1,547 in Ajax, 1,211 in Pickering, 957 in Oshawa, 892 in Whitby, 337 in Clarington, 133 in Uxbridge, 28 in Scugog and 25 in Brock Township. An additional 83 cases are under investigation.

A total of 733 residents are in home isolation, with 26 currently hospitalized.

A total of 202 deaths – including 172 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 4,252 cases have been resolved, which represents 82 per cent of the total.
