A new case of COVID-19 has been reported in Brock Township, the 22nd since the pandemic got underway in March.
According to the update from the Durham Region Health Department Thursday (Dec. 3), the person involved in the most recent case – one of only two active cases in the municipality – is in home isolation.
Overall, there have been 4,724 confirmed cases in Durham – 1,432 in Ajax, 1,136 in Pickering, 820 in Oshawa, 816 in Whitby, 308 in Clarington, 132 in Uxbridge, 28 in Scugog and the 22 in Brock Township.
A total of 519 residents are in home isolation, with 24 currently hospitalized.
A total of 188 deaths – including 158 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.
A total of 3,993 cases have been resolved, which represents 85 per cent of the total.
