
A double shooting left one dead and the suspect with life-threatening injuries in Oshawa on Sunday (Nov. 29) morning.
According to the DRPS, officers responded to a residential apartment on Simcoe Street near Athol Street for a shooting around 10:30 a.m.
“Police arrived to find a 27-year-old male without vital signs in an apartment unit. The victim was taken to a local hospital but later died in hospital,” reads a media release.
“The suspect was located at the scene also suffering from a gunshot wound.”
He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma hospital where he remains in stable condition.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, police say.
Noah Renison, 35, has been charged with first degree murder.
He will be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident and there are no ongoing community safety concerns,” the media release notes.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Justin Blight.
