Teenaged driver now facing charges in connection to fatal collision

A 17-year-old driver has been charged in connection to a fatal crash near Whitchurch-Stouffville over the summer.

Officers were called to the single-vehicle collision on Webb Road, near the York-Durham Line, around 11:15 p.m. on June 30.

An 18-year-old female passenger, whose name has not been released, died as a result of the collision.

The 17-year-old male driver from Stouffville has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death.

“The identity of the youth will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act,” reads a media release.
