OPP officer in stable condition following incident in Lindsay
A stretch of Pigeon Lake Road in Kawartha Lakes is closed for a major police investigation.
While few details have been released, the road is closed between Heights Road and Settlers Road according to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service.
Residents in the area report upwards of 20 police cars at the scene, along with multiple ambulances.
There have been uncomfirmed reports on social media that the incident involved a police pursuit and that shots were fired.
A post from OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique notes that an officer was seriously injured.
“A suspect has been apprehended and there are no concerns for public safety. Our thoughts and best wishes are with our officer,” the post reads.
