Child dead following incident in Lindsay, man shot by police
An OPP officer is in stable condition after suffering serious injuries during an incident in Lindsay Thursday (Nov. 26) morning.
While few details have been released, OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique issued an update around 1:30 p.m. that the officer is receiving medical care.
“Thank you for all the messages of support and best wishes,” it reads.
A stretch of Pigeon Lake Road in Kawartha Lakes has been closed for most of the day for the police investigation.
Residents in the area report upwards of 20 police cars at the scene, along with multiple ambulances.
There have been uncomfirmed reports on social media that the incident involved a police pursuit and that shots were fired.
A post from Carrique noted that a suspect has been apprehended and there are no concerns for public safety at this time.
