A Severn Township man has been charged with first degree murder in connection to a homicide investigation in Orillia.

According to the OPP,  19-year-old Justice Snach was arrested on Sunday (Nov. 23). He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

According to the OPP, a resident located a man with serious injuries on Coldwater Road, near Emily Street, shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 19).

He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The man was later identified as 34-year-old Derek Simmerson of Orillia.
