Marking a milestone at Lakeview Manor

On Sunday, Nov. 8, we celebrated our mother’s 100th birthday. An incredible milestone and in these difficult times of COVID-19, we hoped to have some celebration.

Our mom, Genevieve Abbott, is a resident at Lakeview Manor on the Old Mill. We are so grateful for the care she receives there. But we have to say a special thank you to all the staff for going above and beyond in making her day so special.

In these difficult times, our window visit was enjoyed by all – especially mom. Her face lit up seeing familiar faces, hearing familiar voices and singing her favorite songs.

A special thank you to Katie Carter for all her encouragement and patience truly a memorable visit. We are so thankful to have Lakeview Manor in Beaverton and truly the staff make it a home.

We are thankful for their COVID-19 procedures and their quick actions to lockdown our home when illness appears-to protect our loved ones. We are thankful for the wonderful staff that continue to do their jobs through these unsettling times! You all made it very special for this great milestone to be celebrated.

After our window visit, we socially distanced ourselves for cupcakes in the lovely park across the street. It truly was a lovely celebration of a milestone birthday in COVID-19 times.

We will never forget.
