Eight people have been charged after police allegedly seized more than 100 grams of Fentanyl after executing a search warrant at a home in Georgina.
According to the York Regional Police, the search warrant was executed at a home on Canal Street last Friday (Nov. 13) as part of continued effort targeting suspects involved in trafficking.
Officers reportedly seized 129 grams of powdered Fentanyl, 296 grams of cannabis and 0.14 grams of cocaine.

Police say that officers responded to an increase in calls related to drug overdoses in Georgina in recent months.
“Investigators believe that at least two deaths and 14 overdose calls are connected to fentanyl. Officers were also concerned about a very potent blue-coloured fentanyl that was involved in many of these incidents,” the media release reads.
