A 57-year-old man from Scugog suffered serious injuries after allegedly being stabbed by his son.
According to the DRPS, officers were called to a residence near Altona Road and Taunton Road in Pickering for a stabbing call shortly before 1 a.m. Monday (Nov. 16).
Officers located the man with serious injuries and rendered first aid until paramedics arrived. He was subsequently rushed to a trauma centre in the Toronto area.
“The suspect, who is the victim’s son, fled the scene and was arrested this afternoon in Bradford with the assistance of South Simcoe Police Service,” reads a media release.
The 30-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released, has been charged with attempt murder, aggravated assault, uttering threats, break and enter, mischief, possess weapons dangerous and assault with a weapon.
He was held for a bail hearing.
