Police investigating ‘suspicious’ death in Leaskdale

Durham Regional Police are investigating after a 63-year-old woman was found deceased in her Leaskdale home.

At approximately 12:40 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 14), DRPS officers were called to a residence on Regional Road 13 near Concession Road 7 in Uxbridge Township.

The husband of a 63-year-old woman had reportedly arrived home and found his wife deceased in the residence. Police say he called 911 and started CPR. Paramedics and police arrived and the woman was pronounced dead.

According to DRPS, the coroner attended the scene and could not determine a cause of death. A post-mortem will be scheduled.

“Given the unknown cause of death, at this time the death has been deemed suspicious,” reads a release from police, noting the investigation continues.
