New COVID-19 case reported in Brock Township, municipal total stands at 21

Another confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported in Brock, bringing the township’s total to 21.

The most recent case – one of two active cases in the municipality – was included in the update from the Durham Region Health Department on Friday (Nov. 13). Of the two active cases, one person is in home isolation and one has been hospitalized.

As of Saturday (Nov. 14) morning, a total of 3,567 confirmed cases have been reported in Durham — 1,082 in Ajax, 964 in Pickering, 598 in Oshawa, 507 in Whitby, 242 in Clarington, 121 in Uxbridge, 26 in Scugog and the 21 in Brock Township. Six cases are under investigation.

A total of 323 residents are in home isolation, with 10 currently hospitalized.

A total of 183 deaths – including 153 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 3,051 cases have been resolved, which represents 86 per cent of the total.
