
More than 3,500 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Durham since the pandemic emerged in March.
An update from the Durham Region Health Department Thursday (Nov. 12) included 58 new cases, bringing the region’s total to 3,518.
Of that figure, 1,061 have been reported in Ajax, 955 in Pickering, 593 in Oshawa, 499 in Whitby, 237 in Clarington, 121 in Uxbridge, 26 in Scugog and 20 in Brock Township. Six cases are under investigation.
A total of 307 residents are in home isolation, with 10 currently hospitalized.
A total of 183 deaths – including 153 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.
A total of 3,018 cases have been resolved, which represents 86 per cent of the total.
