A 43-year-old man on parole with more than 20 prohibition orders not to drive has been arrested for operating a motor vehicle.
According to the DRPS, police received information about an orange Corvette driving erratically on Taunton Road in Oshawa shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 10).
“Later, an officer from Central West Division observed the vehicle at a high rate of speed westbound on Highway 2 at Garrard Road in Whitby. The vehicle did not stop at the red light and the vehicle was not pursued due to safety concerns,” reads a media release.
Police say further investigation identified the driver as Adam Simeunovich – the subject of 22 driving disqualifications and a federal parolee.
He was arrested by members of the DRPS Offender Management Unit, without incident, in Lindsay on Wednesday (Nov. 11) while getting out of a cab.
Simeunovich has been charged with 22 counts of operation while prohibited, dangerous operation and drive motor vehicle while suspended.
He was held for a bail hearing Thursday (Nov. 12).
