
A tip from a concerned citizen has led to an impaired driving charge for a Ramara Township man.
According to the OPP, officers received a call from a concerned citizen around 10:40 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 1) regarding a suspected impaired driver at a gas station on West Street.
“Officers patrolled the area extensively but did not immediately locate the vehicle,” reads a media release.
Little more than a half-hour later, officers located the vehicle in a business parking lot nearby and commenced an impaired driving investigation.
“With the assistance of an OPP Drug Recognition Expert, the investigation led to the arrest of the driver,” reads a media release.
James McConnell , 45, has been charged with operation while impaired — drugs.
He is scheduled to appear in Orillia court on Jan. 12, 2021.
