Online fundraiser launched for Cannington resident diagnosed with cancer

The community is rallying for a Cannington resident and volunteer that was recently diagnosed with cancer.

An ONLINE FUNDRAISER for Ron Gerrow Jr., who started treatment for Stage 4 cancer Wednesday (Oct. 28), has generated more than $5,500 in a matter of days.

Organizer and longtime friend Mike Bassett said that Gerrow is extremely thankful for the donations, prayers, kind words and support thus far.

“I’m just trying to help out one of my best friends. Ron is the kindest person and has touched the hearts of so many in this township, never asking for anything in return,” he said.

“If someone else was going through this, Ron would be doing the same thing as I am doing for him.”

Bassett is also accepting donations in exhange for custom ribbon stickers through his business (Your Computer and Signs in Cannington) to help raise funds for the family, which includes Gerrow’s wife, Loretta, and 10-year-old daughter Ryah.
