Three people are facing fraud charges after elderly victims were allegedly defrauded of more than $400,000 over the past several years.
According to Durham Regional Police, one of the elderly victims was approached by the known suspect and asked to help her with legal fees for her son. The victim and her husband were defrauded of $300,000 over the course of several years. The second elderly victim was told a similar story and she was defrauded of over $100,000 over the past eight years.
Three suspects were charged following an investigation.
Glenda Mowbray, 73, of Clarington, Bryan Robertson, 68, of Oshawa and Travis Robertson, 33, of Oshawa have each been charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
They were released on an undertaking.
