Outbreak declared at Lakeview Manor after resident tests positive for COVID-19

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Lakeview Manor after a resident tested positive.

According to the update from the Durham Region Health Department Sunday (Oct. 25), the person involved in the most recent case – the only active case in the municipality – is in isolation.

Overall, there have been 2,834 confirmed cases in Durham – 819 in Ajax, 811 in Pickering, 458 in Oshawa, 391 in Whitby, 193 in Clarington, 118 in Uxbridge, 26 in Scugog and 18 in Brock Township.

A total of 124 residents are in home isolation, with seven currently hospitalized.

A total of 182 deaths – including 153 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 2,417 cases have been resolved, which represents 85 per cent of the total.
