A woman from Algonquin Highlands is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Lindsay Thursday (Oct. 22).
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, a constable stopped a vehicle travelling on Kent Street West in Lindsay around 4 p.m. in order to investigate the driver for a traffic violation.
“While speaking with the driver, the officer observed alcohol in the vehicle that was readily available to the driver,” reads a media release.
“The officer determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed her under arrest.”
Rubi Aguilar Robinson, 31, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle – alcohol and drugs and impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus in addition to charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor License Act.
She is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court of Dec. 17.
