
Two people have been charged after police recovered a vehicle that was reportedly stolen from Ramara Township.
According to the OPP, officers were notified that a motor vehicle had been stolen overnight from a residence in Ramara Township around noon Monday (Oct. 19).
A few hours later, officers spotted the vehicle in downtown Orillia.
“Officers stopped the car and arrested the female driver and a male passenger. In addition, further investigation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine,” reads a media release.
A 34-year-old and a 41-year-old man, both from Orillia, have each been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine.
Both of the accused, whose names have not been released, are scheduled to appear in Orillia court on Dec. 15.
