Shotgun, cocaine and methamphetamine allegedly seized by police in Lindsay

A shotgun, cocaine and methamphetamine were allegedly seized following a police investigation in Lindsay.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, an interaction took place between the drivers of two vehicles that were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Wellington Street at William Street in Lindsay around 11 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 17).

“During the interaction, one driver obtained a shotgun from the passenger seat of his vehicle and pointed the firearm out his window at the other driver,” reads a media release.

“As the vehicle with the shotgun drove away from the intersection, the other driver obtained the license plate, a description of the suspect and then contacted police.”

Officers reportedly located the suspect vehicle parked in the driveway of an address on Cottingham Crescent in Lindsay.

“A short time later the suspect was arrested by police as he exited the home and returned to his vehicle,” reads a media release.

“Further investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at the Cottingham Crescent home and the seizure of a Berretta 12-gauge shotgun, as well as cocaine and methamphetamine.”

Christopher Stuart Thompson, 38, of Lindsay has been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
