Lindsay man charged for allegedly pointing imitation handgun at homeowner

A Lindsay man is facing charges after allegedly pointing an imitation handgun at a homeowner.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, officers were called regarding a disturbance taking place between two men in front of a home on Ridout Street in Lindsay around 3:30 a.m. Monday (Oct. 12).

“The investigating officers learned that a resident on Ridout Street had confronted a man who he found rummaging through property on the front porch of his home,” reads a media release.

“During the confrontation, the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it at the homeowner. The suspect fled from the area prior to the arrival of police.”

Nathan Ian Richards, 20, of Lindsay was arrested following an investigation, which also led to the recovery of a pellet gun that was allegedly used during the incident.  Investigators also recovered a pellet gun, which was allegedly used by the accused during the incident.

He has been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death, trespassing at night and failing to comply with the conditions of his undertaking.
