An Uxbridge man is facing charges after allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer following a traffic stop in Kawartha Lakes.
According to the OPP, an officer stopped a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Little Britain Road around 9:15 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 4).
“The initial investigation revealed that the driver had been consuming alcohol. As the officer attempted to arrest the driver, a physical interaction ensued,” reads a media release.
Richard Ingledew, 52, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); assault a peace officer; resist peace officer; race a motor vehicle – stunt; and fail to surrender insurance card.
He is slated to appear in Lindsay court on Dec. 3.
