Businesses, select not-for-profit groups get a boost from Brock Emergency Response Benefit

A total of 37 businesses and select not-for-profit groups received nearly $150,000 through the Brock Emergency Response Benefit.

Developed by township council to ease the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program was administered by South Lake Community Futures Development Corporation.

Eighteen applications were accepted during the first intake of the program, with 17 approved.

Twenty were received and approved during the second intake of the program, for which the criteria was broadened to include not-for-profit organization that own their own building or operates a business.

A separate funding program for other non-profits, totalling $30,000, was launched by the municipality in mid August.

Recipients of the funding through the Brock Emergency Response Benefit included:

Off Grid Design — $2,500

Petit Piano Service — $5,000

Quills Acupuncture — $5,000

Rolling Hills Studio — $5,000
