The SIU has been called in following an incident in Beaverton overnight.
While no details have been released, by the SIU or the DRPS, investigators remained at the scene on Simcoe Street through Sunday (Sept. 27) morning.
Police tape cordoned off the sidewalk in front of two businesses on the north side of the main street, near Mara Road, surrounding an ATV, a helmet and what appears to be a significant pool of blood.
It appears as though the ATV hit the curb on Simcoe, ejecting the driver.
The SIU is a civilian law enforcement agency, independent of the police, that conducts criminal investigations into circumstances involving police and civilians that have resulted in serious injury, death or allegations of sexual assault.
