The westbound collector lanes of Highway 401 are closed through most of Pickering following a fatal collision Friday (Sept. 18) afternoon

While few details have been released, a social media post from the OPP notes that the collision occured at White’s Road and an adult woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collector lanes — and the on-ramps at Brock, Liverpool, Kingston and White’s roads — are expected to remain closed for several hours.

Express to collector transfer lanes on the 401 have been closed as well.
