There’s been nearly 30 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario schools within the first week.
An update from the Province Tuesday (Sept. 15) morning cited 14 news cases, bringing the total to 29 – 14 involving staff, nine involving students and six involving individuals not identified.
The website was launched by the government on Friday (Sept. 11) and includes confirmed cases at two Durham schools – Maple Ridge Public School in Pickering (Durham District School Board) and École Ronald-Marion (Conseil Scolaire Viamonde).
However, the online reporting tool from the DDSB includes four confirmed cases – two at Maple Ridge and two at Pine Ridge Secondary School, also in Pickering.
It does not specify whether the cases involve students or staff.
