Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for much of southern Ontario with temperatures expected to drop near or just below the freezing mark overnight.
The advisory has been issued for Durham and York regions, as well as parts of Simcoe County and Kawartha Lakes.
“Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees,” it reads.
Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
