
Two people have been arrested in connection to a stabbing in Beaverton on Aug. 31.
According to the DRPS, officers were called to a motel on Osborne Street in Beaverton around 11:30 p.m. and located a 36-year-old man with a stab wound.
Police say the victim was in his motel room when he was confronted by the known suspect.
“An altercation took place before the victim was stabbed. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle driven by a female,” reads a media release.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“This incident was not a random act,” the media release notes.
According to the DRPS, the female suspect was arrested in York Region on Tuesday (Sept. 1) while the male suspect turned himself in to police in Oshawa the following day (Sept. 2).
Jason Kell, 35, of Woodfield Drive in Pefferlaw has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and mischief under $5,000.
Joanne Scott, 58, of Highway 48 in Mount Albert has been charged with aggravated assault and assault.
They were both held for bail hearings.
An update from police also noted that the victim has been released from hospital.
