Motorist from Toronto clocked travelling at 165 km/h on Highway 35

A 33-year-old motorist from Toronto was allegedly clocked travelling at 165 km/h — more than twice the speed limit — on Highway 35 in Kawartha Lakes.

According to the OPP, an officer on patrol spotted the vehicle near Killarney Bay Road Tuesday (Sept. 1).

“The ensuing traffic stop resulted in the loss of their driver’s licence for seven days as well as the vehicle being towed from the scene,” reads a media release.

The accused, who has not been identified, is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Oct. 6.
