Elementary students at Durham public schools will have a staggered start to year

The Durham District School Board has released information on the staggered start to the school year for elementary students.

The board has opted to go with an alphabetical approach, with students being reintroduced to the classroom over the course of 10 days.

“We believe that this will help provide flexibility for families and help ease the transition of your child returning to school, along with learning the health and safety protocols that we will have in place,” reads a letter distributed to parents.

Tuesday, Sept. 8 — Families with last names beginning with A – G
