Twenty-seven dogs, puppies seized following animal welfare investigation in Lindsay

Eighteen dogs and nine puppies were reportedly seized following an animal welfare investigation in Lindsay.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, the investigation got underway on Aug. 14 and centred on a property on Kent Street West where the animals were being kept in a camper trailer.

“Due to the conditions that the dogs were found in, they were all seized and turned over to the Humane Society for examination and care,” reads a media release.

Janie Brooke Rumm of no fixed address has been charged with cruelty to animals and cause damage to animal – fail to provide suitable/adequate food, water, care, shelter.

She appeared in court on Monday (Aug. 21) for a bail hearing.
