Police have released photos of the suspect in last month’s vicious attack in Whitby that left a 50-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.
Officers were initially called to the area of Taunton Road East and Anderson Street around 10:30 a.m. on July 29 after the victim was located near a creek with multiple, serious injuries consistent with an assault.
She remains in hospital in critical condition, police said.
Anthony Doiron-Francis of Whitby has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated assault.
“He lived in Ottawa until March 2020 and then moved to Whitby. Investigators are also aware of him spending some time in Burlington,” reads a media release.
Doiron-Francis is 5’10” in height, with a weight of 220 pounds. He has short hair and a goatee.
“Investigators want to ensure there have been no other victims or similar incidents in the past,” the media release reads.
