
One person faces charges, including attempted murder, aftr a Peterborough Police officer was allegedly stabbed over the weekend.
On Aug. 2, police say an officer was investigating a reported criminal occurrence and confronted the suspect in the matter. The suspect allegedly became violent with the officer and a physical altercation ensued. As a result the officer was stabbed and taken to hospital. The officer is in stable condition.
The suspect, Cody Patterson has been arrested and is in custody facing the following charges: Attempted Murder, Assault with a Weapon, Theft Under $5,000 and Breaching a Weapon Prohibition.
In a social media post following the incident, Peterborough Police Chief Scott Gilbert noted East City Bowl park was closed for the investigation.
