
Two people are charged after police in Lindsay seized Fentanyl, cocaine and a loaded handgun.
On July 29, Kawartha Lakes Police was asked by Toronto Police Service to assist in locating an individual who was believed to be staying at a Lindsay hotel.
Once Kawartha Lakes Police started surveillance of the hotel, the wanted person was located, arrested and turned over to Toronto Police. During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained to enter and search the room that had been occupied by the accused, along with two other men.
As a result of the search, police reportedly seized 62.3 grams of Fentanyl, 48.2 grams of cocaine and a loaded Glock 19, 9mm handgun.
The two men found in the hotel room were arrested and held in the custody of the Kawartha Lakes Police.
Anthony Coore, 27, of Scarborough is charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, careless storage of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Jayden O’Connor, 19, of Ajax is charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, careless storage of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The two accused were scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 30 for a bail hearing.
