After more than three decades, Kathy Lefort is stepping away from her position as the area trustee for the Durham Catholic District School Board.
Lefort formally relinquished the seat representing Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge on Monday (July 27) as she’s planning to move out of the area.

First elected as a trustee in 1988, Lefort that representing those communities has been a “blessing and a gift.”
“I am so grateful for the support I have received from our community,” she said.
“I have learned so much from everyone that I have met and I am truly thankful and humbled for the trust that was given to me. It was such an honour.”
Under the Education Act, the board has 90 days to determine whether to fill the vacant seat through by-election or appointment.
