Man charged after off-duty officer allegedly observes drug deal in Lindsay

A Lindsay man has been charged after an off-duty officer allegedly observed a drug deal take place.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, the incident occurred in the area of Kent Street East in Lindsay around 12:30 p.m. Monday (July 27).

“The Kawartha Lakes Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit began an investigation and arrested a man shortly after in connection with the incident,” reads a media release.

James Nicholas Zarlenga, 31, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 17.
