Police are searching for a suspect after a woman suffered minor injuries following an alleged robbery in Lindsay.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, a woman who was walking in the area of Kent Street West in Lindsay turned north to walk through an alley between two downtown businesses around 6:30 a.m. Sunday (July 26).
“At the north end of the alley, near a municipal parking lot, the woman felt a tug from behind on a purse she carried over her shoulder. The woman turned and observed a man on a bicycle,” reads a media release.
“The man was able to pull the woman’s purse off her shoulder, knocking the woman to the ground in the process.”
The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said.
The male suspect is described as white with a medium build and was wearing a red hat, dark shirt, grey shorts and black shoes.
He was riding a red mountain bike and was carrying a black backpack.
