Police investigating suspicious death in East Gwillimbury

Homicide detectives in York Region are investigating the suspicious death of a 51-year-old man in East Gwillimbury.

According to the York Regional Police, officers were called to the Blue Door Shelter – located at 18838 Highway 11 – following a report of an injured man.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are seeking witnesses following the suspicious death of a man in the Town of East Gwillimbury.

“When officers arrived they located a man who was unresponsive. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased,” reads a media release.

The man has been identified as Hilton Rock of Newmarket.

“The investigation is ongoing,” the media release reads.

“Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward.”
