Federal offender sought by police also wanted for property crimes

Police are looking to track down a federal offender known to frequent parts of Simcoe County in addition to Niagara Falls.

Mark Whyte is described as a Caucasian male, 45 years of age, 6′ (183cm), 190 lbs (86kgs) with black hair and blue eyes.

He has several tattoos including a rose (left forearm), a dollar sign, skull and ‘MOM’ (left upper arm), flames (both hands), a brick pattern with clover (right forearm), a skull (rear left upper arm), ‘RS TW’ (right side of neck), spiderweb (left elbow) and ‘L H W N S C A S’ written out on his fingers.

Whyte is currently serving a 13-year sentence for six counts of break, enter and commit; three counts of break and enter with intent; four counts of theft over $5,000; two counts of theft under $5,000; two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and escape lawful custody.

According to a media release, he is also wanted for several property-related offences by the Orillia OPP, Barrie Police Service and the Niagara Regional Police Service.

Police say Whyte is known to frequent the Niagara Falls, Oro-Medonte, Orillia, Wasaga Beach and Barrie areas.
