A man has been charged after a concerned citizen contacted police after witnessing what they believed to be a drug deal take place in a parking lot on Lindsay Street South on Friday (July 17).
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, the caller reported that the transaction involved the driver of a truck and a pedestrian.
“At 10:15AM an officer located the truck and initiated an investigation,” reads a media release.
“The officer determined the driver of the truck was in possession of a controlled substance and placed him under arrest.”
Peter Gerald Houghton, 48, of Lindsay has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Sept. 10.
