Police divers have been called in to continue the search for a missing canoeist on Pigeon Lake.
According to the OPP, officers were called to the area shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday (July 14)
“Initial investigation indicated that five persons departed from a residence in a canoe which then capsized,” reads a media release from police.
“Four of the occupants were located by a boater and taken to shore. One occupant is still outstanding. None of the occupants were wearing life jackets.”
Uniform officers and firefighters, with assistance from the OPP helicopter, assisted with the initial search.
